Feed the Need

In Kuwait there are many people suffering from poverty or who send their money back home and only have just enough money to survive. These people often suffer from hunger.
I was recenlty in Bahrain and participated in a program called Feed the Need. This is a program where money was raised to place 19 fridges around Bahrain and are filled by those who have more than enough food in order to accomodate for those suffering from hunger.
Me and my friends bought some simple groceries such as rice, onions, apples, oranges, carrots, potatoes, oil and cabbage to fill up some fridges. We visited 12 of the fridges in Bahrain and filled them with these foods. After filling the fridges we saw swarms of people go to the fridges and take a couple of need items. They limited it to only 2 items by putting up signs in order to allow everyone to partake of the donated food. We watched many walk away smiling and I could tell that we had made their day.
Although in Kuwait the numbers of those suffering from the extremes such as starvation are very minimal, Feed the Need would be a simple way for normal people to contribute what excess they have and save many and seriously improve others lives. Despite the water stations we have already around Kuwait, we could further improve and I propose that we begin Feed the Need here in Kuwait.
