We have mentioned obesity, pollution, litter, community interaction, preparedness etc. and I encourage you to continue contributing to resolve these issues. However, I fear we are forgetting to take care of the most important thing, oursleves.

In 2014, Kuwait was ranked the fourth most obese country in the world. We need to ensure we as individuals take care of our health to decrease this number for Kuwait.

Some of the simple things we can do to keep ourselves healthy (in no particular order) include...

1) Establishing a regular exersize routine. We can ensure we stick to this by finding an exersize buddy to keep us commited when we feel like quitting. Physical activity helps prevent at least six diseases. Aim to spend at least 30 minutes doing physical activity most days a week.

2) Dieting is always an option or just healthy eating in general. Cutting out excessive snacking. And choosing healthy foods such as a pear over a bar of chocolate.

Eat a variety of foods, specifically:

-Vegetables. Choose dark-green leafy and deep-yellow vegetables.

-Fruits. Choose citrus fruits or juices, melons, and berries.

-Dry beans (such as red beans, navy beans, and soybeans), lentils, chickpeas, and peanuts.

-Whole grains, such as wheat, rice, oats, corn, and barley. Whole grain breads and cereals.

Eat foods low in fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol, especially:

-Fish

-Poultry prepared without skin; lean meat.

-Low fat dairy-products.

3) Ensuring we drink enough fluids is an important part of keeping our bodies healthy however we have to ensure we aren't drinking too much sugar or caffeine.

4) We should make sure we aren't always wearing our slippers or staying inside. We should be active and put on our tennishoes and go for a walk. Simple methods of exersize such as walking can still help keep your from devastating health situations. For example, brisk walking is about as good for you as jogging.

5) Not smoking. We have all heard it a million times before but smoking causes tar to build up in your lungs and eventually breathing will become difficult, you will have painful choughs, etc.

6) Wear sunscreen. It is commonly believed that you can't get a tan if you are wearing sunscreen, however, you still can. Visible light is what tans you however Ultra Violet light causes sun burns and that is what sunscreen blocks out. So protect yourself from skin cancer by wearing sunscreen and keeping yourself protected from the sun when you are outside.

7) Get a yearly heath screening.

8) Maintain a healthy weight. Carrying excess weight is bad for you and decreases your health even more.
